Extremely disappointed with the service and food. Waited almost 2.5 hours for a meal as the waiter forgot to put our order through to the kitchen. Although the manager apologised I did get the impression that we were not the first ones complaining that evening nor the last. Anjani P, London 19 Nov 08

The Royal 185 Court Road, Mottingham, London, SE9 (Map)

Went to the Royal for Sunday lunch after a recommendation from a work colleauge and was very pleasantly surprised. The decor is very good, the service was good and the staff happy and the quality of the food was excellent. Big servings to, even i couldn't finish my roast, a first! The price was good too. Not the cheapest, but i'd happily pay what they ask for the food they serve. I liked it so much i'm going back very soon with my parents. Tony, Eltham 18 Nov 08

I was very disappointed!! I am a baltic russian girl, and I knew what to expect from classic baltic cuisine! Was very disappointed with beetroot soup!!! I have no idea where they got their recipes, but that soup was an absolute disgrace!! They shouldn't cook 'Their Variations' and stick to classic recipe. Russian Girl, London 18 Nov 08

The Blue Post 28 Rupert Street, Soho, London, W1 (Map)

This was the first pub I found in London, and ended up my favorite. I had the Blue Posts omelet one night and a corned beef with beetroot sandwich on my return visit. Both meals were excellent and great value. Has the old England pub atmosphere in spite of being close to Piccadilly circus. Beautiful very large wood bar. Not a lot of seating but many patrons have one drink and move on, so seats open up quick. Tom Weinkauf, Elkhart, IN USA 17 Nov 08

Cosmo Lounge 43 Essex Road, Islington, London, N1 (Map)

I adore this venue which offers great atmophere. The regular customers and very friendly bar staff & great owner make it the most enjoyable gay venue in Angel Islington. I Would urge Gay people to try it as it has no attitude. Great Place. Thanks all at Cosmo Lounge. James, Angel 17 Nov 08
