More information about The Old Queen’s Head in Islington
The Old Queen’s Head in Islington is returning to the glorious days of variety shows and old fashioned music hall entertainment with Daffadown Dilly, a brand new monthly 'knees up' launching on Thursday 11th February 2010.
With cabaret and burlesque decidedly passé, The Old Queen’s Head’s unique revival of this well-loved British entertainment is set to launch a new kind of nightlife trend in the capital's pubs and clubs.
The Music Hall-style night is hosted by a compère, there to entertain and introduce contortionists, comedians and singers, as well as weird wonderful and wacky acts that before now, have never been seen performing together like this.
Unlike other burlesque shows and cabaret nights in London, the combination of music, circus, dance and comedy at Daffadown Dilly will recreate the mischievous and slightly risqué Britishness of Victorian variety shows with a unique Old Queen’s Head slant.
Starts Thursday 11th February
