The Avenue Restaurant & Bar London Description
Avenue is a minimalist, chic restaurant and bar in the heart of St. James's, London, which boasts a modern classic menu with a New York twist. Perfectly, situated for business entertains, it is also handy for pre or post theatre or for a relaxed break from shopping. The long and stylish bar is an ideal place for a quick lunch, the perfect Manhattan or a head-clearing Bloody Mary.
When The Avenue opened in December 1995, St James's hadn't seen anything quite like it. Traditionally the home of sleepy Gentlemen's clubs, it awoke with something of a start when The Avenue's beautifully contemporary dining room took London's restaurant scene by storm just before Christmas that year.
The Avenue's regular customers range between the courtiers of the two Royal palaces nearby, then art dealers and money men of St James's, and the ladies who lunch after a morning's shopping in the fashionable shops of Bond Street.
The restaurant is reached after walking through one of the longest and most stylish bars in London. To the left is the bar itself, gently under-lit to provide a warm, flattering glow; to the right sit a handful of deep, easy chairs and tables beneath a subtly curving sensuous wall. The overall effect is to draw you through into the elegant dining room. The bar area can easily accommodate up to 150 people standing, and is an ideal spot for a quick lunch, the perfect Manhattan or a heady-clearing Bloody Mary.

“We had the best drinks in the city of London at the Avenue. The bartender makes the best drinks in town. The wait staff is overly accomodating even to Americans! We can't tell you how much we enjoyed this place. The cab driver thought we were locals because we went there so much!”

“I have been here to just drink and also to eat a couple of times. The service was fantastic, the food delicious (very accomodating : I wanted to mix and match sauce from one dish to another and nothing was too much bother)
Definitely recommend this one.”
