The Great Eastern Dining Room London Review
Book a table at The Great Eastern Dining Room
The Great Eastern Dining Room is featured in these Guides:
Less of a city crowd than Cantaloupe across the road, The Great Eastern Dining Room is a simple, but sleek bar with a dark wood, sophisticated theme, which is far cleaner than most of the other bars in the vicinity.
That doesn't seem to affect the crowd though and the arty hoxton crew still flocks, especially now that the more laid-back basement (Below 54) is open, with pouffes, low lighting, club visuals and all. The restaurant upstairs offers seriously good food in a rather noisy and busy environment, with the menu leaning towards the a Pan Asian Cuisine. The Great Eastern Dining Room is not cheap though and booking is a must most days.

“I had my birthday at the Great Eastern Dining Room midweek & what a result! We dined in the restaurant early on with a 3 course meal, drink, coffee....the whole shabang for just £15 - and then moved through to the bar for the rest of the night. Great cocktails, new list apparently - and really friendly staff. Shoreditch can be very hit & miss with uber cool wanabees lurking in the corners of multiple restaurants and bars...why? It is called 'service' - look for the clue in name. Anyway, the great eastern have nailed it with sincere staff, great food & drinks. methinks that covers it - well done to the great eastern dining rooms. see you soon.”

“Time slots nightmare! This is typical experience of the terrible service this restaurant offers to customers. I hope really hope the credit crunch would teach them a lesson in humility.”

“I had a birthday celebration with 15 friends in the restaurant & then moved downstairs to the lounge bar which hosts a DJ with visuals.
The meal was top drawer, lots of flavour & choice and because it is served banquet style we avoided the often drawn out process of everyone ordering individually.
After the meal we moved into a reserved area in the bar which we all loved.
We had a really good time & agreed that the sincere and real staff that took care of us made a huge difference. What a breath of fresh air to the all too familiar wannabes that haunt Londons style bars and restaurants. Well done and thanks for a really cracking night.”
